Therapeutic Potential of Royal Jelly in Hepatitis B and Related Inflammatory Pathways

چکیده :

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a major global health concern, affecting millions worldwide and contributing to the development of chronic hepatitis B (CHB), cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Therefore, there is a growing interest in exploring natural therapeutic alternatives with immunomodulatory and antiviral properties. This review explores the role of RJ in modulating immune responses. This review is based on an extensive analysis of recent scientific literature that examines the pharmacological properties of RJ in relation to immune system modulation and its potential application in HBV treatment. Studies focusing on RJ’s effects on cytokine regulation, inflammasome pathways, TLR activation, and oxidative stress in HBV-infected individuals were reviewed. The review also incorporates findings from experimental and clinical research that assess the bioactive compounds of RJ and their interactions with immune cells, particularly in the context of CHB. The findings from various studies suggest that RJ has significant potential in enhancing immune function and reducing liver inflammation in HBV-infected individuals. The major results from the reviewed literature include enhancement of innate and Adaptive Immunity, anti-Inflammatory Effects, antioxidant and cytoprotective Effects and potential in autoimmune and Allergy Modulation. The therapeutic properties of royal jelly indicate its promising potential as a natural adjunct in the management of HBV infection. By modulating immune responses, regulating TLR pathways, and inhibiting inflammatory signaling, as research progresses, RJ may emerge as a viable complementary therapy to existing antiviral treatments, offering a holistic approach to HBV management.
