Novel Approaches in Insect Usage in the Field of Plant Protection

چکیده :

Modern agriculture faces significant challenges, including the overuse of pesticides, environmental degradation, and the emergence of pesticide-resistant pests. Addressing these issues requires innovative and sustainable pest management strategies. This review examines the role of insects in plant protection by discussing advancements in biological control, insect-derived products, genetic engineering, and precision agriculture. Novel biological control methods, such as the implementation of living insect carriers and microbial insecticides, offer alternatives to conventional chemical pesticides. Additionally, insect-derived products, including bio-pesticides and insect-based fertilizers, contribute to environmentally sustainable agricultural practices. Genetic engineering approaches, particularly RNA interference (RNAi) and CRISPR technologies, enable targeted pest control with minimal ecological disruption. Moreover, precision agriculture integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for real-time pest monitoring, predictive analytics, and optimized pesticide application. Incorporating these technological advancements into agricultural practices enhances sustainability, reduces reliance on chemical interventions, and improves crop protection. This paper provides an extensive review of these developments, emphasizing their potential for advancing pest management while promoting environmental responsibility.
